This boutique hospitality project in East Austin is envisioned as a community oriented destination where hospitality, wellness, and neighborhood life intersect. While designed primarily to serve hotel guests and wellness visitors, select outdoor spaces are intentionally made available for community events and programming that engage the surrounding neighborhood.
Two design concepts were explored for the site. The first approach reimagines the existing off-street parking lot as a contemporary hospitality landscape, working within the constraints of the existing site while introducing new outdoor spaces for wellness and gathering. The second concept explored a more transformative direction, envisioning a complete site overhaul centered around the restorative qualities of a natural spring and a more immersive connection to nature.
The site is organized into a series of outdoor rooms that extend the guest experience throughout the property. Wellness amenities include a sauna, freestanding and in-grade cold plunges, a pool, and a yoga lawn. Native, low-maintenance plantings create a dynamic, seasonally responsive landscape that defines each space while reinforcing the character of the site.
Designed for flexibility, the landscape accommodates both intimate guest experiences and larger public events, creating a boutique destination that seamlessly transitions between a hotel, wellness retreat, and neighborhood gathering place.
