LIBRARY PARK
Roswell, New Mexico | Civic
Library Park is a conceptual design for a vibrant community space adjacent to the public library in Roswell. The park is intended to activate the surrounding area, creating a flexible venue for local businesses and community members. Programming could include pop-up markets, small concerts, and private events, all designed to foster connection and engagement.
At the center of the park, a signature shade structure provides relief from daytime heat while casting a subtle halo of light at night to softly illuminate the space. Beneath this structure, a multi-functional kiosk accommodates food and beverage service, pop-up galleries, or retail activations.
Library Park also serves as a pedestrian link between N. Richardson Avenue and the library. Scattered throughout the site, little libraries offer books contributed by the public library and local residents. The design blends gathering, learning, and cultural exchange, creating an inclusive public environment that encourages interaction across all ages.
